Speech-Language Therapy

What is Speech-Language Intervention?

Communication begins when a child enters the world and in the first 5 years is dramatically changing.  There are many ways we communicate both non-verbal & verbal and this communication is the way we connect with others.  Communication is a stepping stone to cognitive learning and future skills including reading and writing.  There are certain communication milestones that a child reaches as they grow and sometimes a child may be slightly or significantly behind-that is when a speech therapist can help.
Speech-Language Pathologists also assist with feeding and swallowing issues including oral motor deficits; sensory integration issues and failure to thrive.

Our Speech-Language Therapist
Our speech therapist can evaluate and treat your child as needed either at home, at daycare or onsight at our own facility.  We pride ourselves on active parent and educator involvment, creating a team approach for assisting your child's successful communication and interaction with his or her world.  Our speech therapists are a vital role in the Building BLOCKS program and have varied experiences and personalities to provide a well rounded approach to intervention with a child.
